BIO

Eric Michael Hernandez is a Native American hoop dancer affiliated with the Lumbee Tribe. He performed as the lead character/dancer in Cirque du Soleil’s production “TOTEM,” touring over 17 countries. After eight years of touring, he continues to share, educate, inspire, heal, and entertain through the mesmerizing Hoop Dance.

His inspiring journey involves breaking stereotypes and embracing his cultural identity. Eric’s resilience and determination serve as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of authenticity and self-expression.

Eric’s amazing hoop dance performances including the 2022 Heard Museum World Hoop Dance Competition and his TEDxUCIrvine talk,The Modern Native American Story are captivating. His story invites us all to celebrate diversity and embrace our unique identities.
